Whitney Eve, designed by MTV’s the City and the Hills star, Whitney Port showcased lots of girly looks. Miniskirts, cropped pants and roomy jumpers were the main staples. Sherbet color pastels resonated throughout the collection to give balance to the basic grey, navy and black tones.

Sensible chic are the words that come to mind when describing Michael Kors’ collection. There was everything from lofty knits, sequined wide-legged pants, and turf like sheaths and skirts. The color palette ranged from bright pinks and kelly greens to burnt camels and sweatshirt greys. The menswear was also great with handsomely made shawl neck sweaters, double-breasted trenches and relaxed, flat-front pants. Gorgeous collection!

Tory Burch and jet-setting go hand and hand when you are talking about this season’s collection. It was full of vibrant color, blouson dresses and detailed sportswear. The collection had a consistent fashionable suiting section that the designer commented was an ode to her father, ““I took a pair of his pants and turned it into a suit,” she said. “I adored the way he dressed.”

Vera Wang went back to her roots! Her presentation for Spring 2011 clearly was a dedication to Japan with an edgier, tougher feel. Updated kimono-like dresses and beautifully styled sheaths were the main focus of the collection. There was a lot of play on texture with draping, ruching and voluminous pleating. Although the color palette was a bit dark for this season, the fabrication and design was on par.

*Gasp* That is how many felt about the amazing S/S Marc Jacobs runway show at the Lexington Avenue Armory yesterday. It left many speechless. It was an ode to YSL 70′s glam with long flowing strapless and halter dresses, geometric trenches and gigantic flower appendages on practically every piece. The warm palette emphasized the various textures used including the “not leaving much to the imagination”, yet tasteful, see through gauze-like pieces. Celebs were definitely in attendance for this massive production.

Wild and crazy, fun and sweet are just some words to describe Betsey’s S/S 2011 production. The theme “Ride Me”, was consistently executed with a backdrop video that made it seem like the runway was traveling. There was so much color and excitement in this collection from the skin tight body suits in the opener to the full out tulle, corset dresses. She had something for everybody with neon biker shorts (yes, biker shorts!) pretty florals, nautical suits, and boufant full length gowns.
Lots of fun! Ride on Betsey!

The celebs were out today for the Tracy Reese runway show. Veronica Webb, Denise Richards, Kelly Osbourne and Angela Simmons were just some of the star power in the audience. The collection evoked easy going, chic pieces. The looks were effortless with flowing dresses, safari themed pants and billowing tops. The collection definitely tapped into the bohemian trend but with a sophisticated twist.

Zero+Maria Cornejo RTW presentation was a great take on hippie chic. Beautifully draped knee-length dresses, harem pants and pantsuits were the main staples throughout the show. The use of tribal prints and asymmetrical silhouettes were also stand outs under two-toned bikinis.

Prabal Gurung show was an amazing breath of fresh air to color and sophistication to the season. There were many eye-catching color-blocking pieces, optical designs and lots of textured items. Gurung’s attention to detail on each piece goes without notice as each piece showed something very special. Whether it was a shoulder embellishment, sequin design or a simple nude zipper, Gurung’s collection definitely had the standout factor.
